A solo show can be a powerful component of an actor's toolkit, allowing them to create a full theatrical experience with nothing but a stage, an audience, and their own person. These shows can be autobiographical, historical, or completely fantastical. In this Summer writing workshop led by Alley Theatre's Head of Dramaturgy Bradley Michalakis, we will explore how to write and develop your own solo show. The guided writing process will be accompanied by a survey of classic solo shows, written and performed by actors of various disciplines. This process will culminate in the presentation of your own original work!
