MOLLY WETZEL

Biography

Molly Wetzel, originally from Olathe, Kansas, is a professional voice and dialect coach, and actor. As a dialect coach she has worked in many professional theatres in the Houston area including The Alley Theatre, Stages Repertory Theatre, and Theatre Under the Stars. As a performer, Molly has worked for regional theatres around the country, including the Utah Shakespeare Festival, Pacific Conservatory Theatre, and the Texas Shakespeare Festival. Favorite roles include Emma in Betrayal, The Mother in The Oldest Boy, Desdemona in Othello, and Ella in Cinderella.

 

Molly currently works as an Assistant Professor of Voice and Speech at the University of Houston. She holds a BFA in Musical Theatre with a Dance concentration from Otterbein University, and an MFA in Acting from the University of Houston. In addition to her university teaching, she works with over five hundred students in Japan through Atsueigo Online, where she serves as the American English pronunciation specialist and writes pronunciation curriculum. She also teaches clients from around the world through her private business, molly does dialects. She is a certified teacher of Knight-Thompson Speechwork.
