ADRIENNE SHEARER

Biography

Adrienne Shearer is a teaching artist with a BA in theater from The University of St. Thomas. She has taught theater and dance for all ages backgrounds and abilities with Theatre Under The Stars, The AD Players, Mainstreet Theater, along with countless schools from elementary through higher education in and around the Houston area. Over the last fourteen years Shearer has devoted her time to creating equal opportunity in the arts, especially for those on the Autism spectrum. Shearer has had the privilege of bringing theater to special populations in places like The Monarch Institute, The Avondale House, and working with The River. She established Better Together Theater Arts Academy in 2015 which serves neurodivergent teens and adults. Currently Adrienne is the director and playwright for Alliance Theater, a nonprofit where she creates devised work inspired by neurodiverse artists, building community and engaging audiences through shared human experiences. Adrienne is an MFA candidate expected to graduate in 2026 with a concentration in directing and choreography from Wilson College.
